TAB NAVIGATOR, SESSION MANAGER, ARCHIVE ORGANIZER, & COLLABORATIVE WORKSPACE

The essential all-in-one hub
to navigate, orchestrate, annotate,
and curate your entire online life.

What is Pinako?

  • Pinako keeps your browser tabs neatly organized in a clear outline with foldable nested layers you control, including the tabs and windows you've closed but want to come back to.
  • Group windows and tabs into shareable libraries and attach styled notes with pictures, audio or videos.
  • Add colors, tags and memos to anything, and search across everything with built-in AI.
  • Open your Pinako from any browser or device, and edit shared libraries with others in real time.
  • The Pinako extension is free to install. Paid plans unlock web portal sync, AI, collaboration, and more. Keep scrolling to explore Pinako's many helpful and unique features.

Libraries for organizing and sharing link collections

  • Libraries are individual collections of windows, tabs, and notes, independent of your live browser session. They can be used as:
    • Feature-Enhanced Archives separated into categories or joined into groups.
    • Resource hubs for ongoing projects, updatable course materials, or team reference pages, with detailed records attached as Notes. Pull individual links from a library or open its entire tree with a single click.
    • Standalone web pages where curated lists of hyperlinks, updated in real-time, can be privately shared with friends, family, or co-workers, or shared publicly by posting to social media with a single click.
    • Collaborative workspaces where professional, academic, and creative teams can add links, embed relevant media, and co-edit the Note documents in real-time, complete with detailed edit histories.
  • Four different ways to quickly add content to Libraries, including directly from within the browser.
  • Organize libraries into Library Groups for higher-level categorization.
  • Import/export individual Libraries, and extract individual libraries from a multi-library import file.

Rich-Text & Multimedia

  • Add multiple rich-text documents to the main tree or any library for commentary, documentation, meeting minutes, references.
  • Included with free extension: typography, font-size, headings, colors, checklists, code blocks with syntax highlighting, advanced math notation, hyperlinking...
  • Pro adds: font families, tables, Word/HTML/Markdown import-export, image embedding, word count, invisible character display...
  • Pro+ adds embedded resizable images, video, and audio files directly into notes; stored in Pinako cloud, served via CDN, synced everywhere.
  • Notes are independently searchable via the Notes Search tool, with cross-note navigation and match counting.
  • Edit notes on the web portal and changes sync back to the extension on all your devices and browsers.
  • With Pro+, notes also come with collaboration tools such as live multicolor cursors and text selections, and edit logs.

Full-Featured Collaborative Workspaces

Turn Libraries into real-time collaboration projects and workspaces,
with changes made by any collaborator synced in real time.

Shared Spaces

Real-Time Sync

Shared Spaces

  • Useful for project or client resource stations, team research collections, collaborative academic assignments, or whenever multiple people need to organize links and associated commentary, media, and documents.
  • Grant read-only or full edit access to add, remove, and rearrange links and folders, and to edit the note documents, from any web browser.
  • Share via email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal, Microsoft Teams, and more.
  • Add a shared library to your own Pinako Library collection with one click and you can follow, access, and edit the library directly from within the extension.

Real-Time Sync

  • Note documents can be used as commentary, documentation, meeting minutes, and references with ability to embed multimedia files.
  • Each collaborator's cursor, text carets and text selections appear in real time, labeled with their name and a unique color.
  • Edit Log provides a searchable timeline of every change: nodes added or removed, text-level diffs within notes.
  • Each entry is timestamped with the editor's name and appears in real time with a brief highlight animation.

Annotate Anything

  • Add Tags and quick Markdown Memos to tabs, windows, groups or folders, all searchable.
  • Attach multiple rich-text notes with multimedia to trees, all searchable.
  • Flag any node with colored stars for quick visual identification and categorization.
  • Organize live windows into nested categories with Group nodes, assignable as any color.
  • Organize tabs and windows in Libraries with extra flexibility using Folder nodes, assignable as any color.

Pinako AI Integrations

  • AI Semantic Search understands the meaning of your query, not just literal text. Search for "that article about AI" and Pinako finds blog posts, papers, and news about artificial intelligence, machine learning, or LLMs, even if none of those words appear in the tab title.
  • Understands time-based queries such as "tabs I opened last Tuesday", and content types such as "video about cooking" or "the PDF about taxes".
  • Pinako AI Bridge (MCP) connects your Pinako trees, notes, and Library workspaces to desktop AI assistants (Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and more).
    • A desktop installer auto-detects and configures supported AI clients in seconds, and any app supporting HTTP MCP transport can connect manually.
    • Use cases: ask your AI assistant questions about your browsing history, extract information for other projects, generate summaries of specific libraries or notes, or build targeted research lists from your tabs.
  • Coming soon: built-in AI chat panel, agentic write tools, and auto-organization.

Seamless integration with
Chrome Tab Groups

  • The "Tab Groups" native to Chrome and other Chromium browsers are reflected directly in Pinako's tree, with each grouped tab showing the assigned color badge and label.
  • Rearranging tab group membership in the browser updates Pinako's tree, and vice versa.
  • Group identity (names and colors) also persists when a tab enters closed ghost state, and when resurrected again later, and can also be saved in Library trees.

Access, Organize, and Edit
Browser Bookmarks

  • View your entire browser bookmark collection inside Pinako as a fully interactive, hierarchical tree; replacing the browser's flat bookmark manager.
  • Drag bookmarks into nested hierarchies for visual organization, and add memos, tags, and star colors to any bookmark node.
  • Rearrange, rename inline, create or nest folders, and all changes sync to your browser's native bookmark manager in real time.
  • Drag bookmarks to and from your main tree, libraries, or synced mobile devices.
  • Nested Bookmark Folders dragged into main tree are parsed and flattened into windows with breadcrumb titles.
  • View two cloned instances of a large Bookmarks tree for fast bulk reorganization.
  • Use AI Semantic Search on gigantic 20-year-old bookmark collections to rediscover and reorganize old saved links.

Access and pull tabs from
mobile devices

  • The tabs open on phones and tablets synced to your browser can be viewed as trees within the Pinako extension.
  • Quickly and easily drag the tabs from your mobile device into your main desktop tree, a library, or your browser bookmarks tree.

Maintain your tree structure while restoring browser session or loading preselected tab groups

Upon fresh browser launch or reload, Pinako optionally offers 4 launch modes that all maintain the previous state of your tree:
restore your last session, open Home Tabs, load a Home Tab Group, or start with a clean slate.

Pinako Smart Session Restore

  • When you let the browser restore a session after a reboot or browser reload, it creates new windows for tabs which are no longer connected to their original tree positions and nested organizational structure.
  • Pinako's Smart Session Restore preserves your tree structure and reopens the tabs exactly where you left them, with all the valuable context and relationships they were saved with.

Home Tabs

  • Choose a set of tabs you tend to open every session (email, calendar, messaging, news feeds, video subscriptions, project tools, or any page you use regularly) and let Pinako open just those Home Tabs for you; maintaining the same tree positions you last left them in, still connected to all the stored closed tabs in their respective window trees.
  • Far more convenient and useful than the browser's basic "Open a specific set of pages" option, which never maintains any continuity with your past sessions.
  • If a Home Tab was moved, deleted, or replaced during a session, Pinako uses a multi-level heuristic system spanning six layers of contextual reasoning to determine the most logical placement upon launch.

Home Tab Groups

  • Create multiple named sets of Home Tabs to switch contexts between leisure, work, school, or specific projects.
  • A Leisure group might open reading and entertainment sites. A Work group might open your project tools and communication apps.
  • With one click in the extension or on the Pinako icon in browser toolbar, or during browser launch, you can open only the relevant tabs for that context to help you focus by reducing distractions and clutter, without losing your tree structure and browsing history.

Customize and SyncTheme Appearance

  • Toggle between light and dark mode instantly from the main menu.
  • Select from a gallery of light and dark themes.
  • Open the Customizer to adjust individual color variables and scrollbar width, with live preview as you make changes.
  • Custom themes are saved in the gallery, included in data backups and exports, and synced to the web portal and across all your devices.

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • A full set of keyboard shortcuts covers navigation, search, tree operations, and panel management.
  • Every shortcut is fully customizable: click any entry to rebind it to a new key or key combination.
  • Power users can navigate, rearrange, and manage their entire tree without touching the mouse.

Flexible User Preferences

  • Reveal display options for convenience, or hide them for more minimal appearance:
    • Notes toolbar, date created, indent and metadata buttons
  • Interface and behavior options:
    • drag and drop, double-click, and more.
  • Allow Incognito tabs in local tree.

Intelligent Universal Import from Other Tab and Session Managers

  • Does your old tab manager include organizational folders, text documents, tags and other metadata?
Pinako will automatically parse, structure, and sort all your data into Pinako's various organizational levels:
    • Libraries, Library Groups, Folder nodes, Group nodes, tags, rich-text notes and per-node markdown memos.
  • Migrate your data with full automatic conversion. Supported sources include:
    • Session Buddy, Toby, Workona, Tabs Outliner, BrainTool, Link Map, TabXpert, OneTab, and more.
  • Pinako preserves as much structure and metadata as each source allows:
    • Custom tab names, pinned-tab markers, timestamps, descriptions, collapsed/expanded hierarchy states, and more.
    • To-Do/Done markers are preserved, and "task lists" converted to checkbox lists.
  • Pinako also accepts generic JSON, HTML, or plain-text files and applies its own parsing to fit the data.
